The club was conceived in 1978. Meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month at Hawaiian Canoe Club in Kahului. The Maui Trailer Boat Club host 3 tournaments a year. The Lanai over nighter, The Hana Pa'a and The Bagda Bottom . 

This years Hana Pa'a tournament is scheduled until July 29, 2023. The Hana Pa'a was established to show the Government that the trailer boat community is active and in need of a Trailer Boat Harbor.

Maui Trailer Boat Club has supported the recreational use of Kahului Trailer Boat Harbor for over 30 years.
